All footing
dimensions are general
recommendations.
Each soil type must be evaluated by
individual installer or qualified
persons at each individual site. The
footing size may vary. Footing chart
assumes firm virgin soil free of
debies, and is a general guide for
installation.
Example:
A loose sandy soil would require a
larger footing than a firm rocky
soil. General rule is; hole diameter
3 to 4 times the diameter of the
pole and 10 % of the total length.
Example: a 30 ft tall flagpole would
have a 3' deep footing.
A Ground set
installation is the
preferred method of
installation of flagpoles,
and yields the highest wind
ratings. Using a shoe base
adds to the cost of the
flagpole, The footing size
must be the same using long
bolts, (supplied with
flagpoles) and it
recommended a separate
grounding rod be installed
and secured to pole by
installer (not supplied)
with shoe base flagpoles.
